Prayer of St. Francis
The Peace Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, the truth;
Where there is doubt, the faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
Whatsoever things are True...
Whatsoever things are Honest...
Whatsoever things are Just...
Whatsoever things are Pure...
Whatsoever things are Lovely...
Whatsoever things are of Good Report...
If there be any praise,
If there be any virtue...
Think on these things.
The courage to change the things I can...
And the wisdom to know the difference.
You're a pleasure, seems apropos,
You're elation and cheer and nice to know,
Can't think of words to describe my glee,
When I think of all you mean to me.
Bliss and joy, amusment and laughter,
Still can't find the words I am after.
Elation, euphoria, cheerfulness and rest...
perhaps these words say it best.
Jubilation, relaxation, comfort and ease,
These are the things you have given to me!
So I wonder if there will come a day,
When I can write the words to say...
Thank you for the friendship, I just had to let you know,
"You're a pleasure", is not just a phrase, for You...It's apropos!
Joe Shea (2008)
Go Placidly...amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself to others you may become vain and bitter for always there will be lesser and greater persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs for the world is full of trickery but let this not blind you to what virtue there is, many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture the strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune, but do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself...YOU ARE A CHILD OF THE UNIVERSE no less than the trees and the stars you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace with GOD, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all it's shams, drudgery, and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
Max Ehrmann (circa 1932)
Words of inspiration, original photographs and beautiful poetery...
May today there be peace within,
May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinate possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
When you change the way you look at things...the things you look at will change.
Dr. Wayne Dyer
The place to be happy is here.
The time to be happy is now.
The way to be happy is to help make others happy.
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

Let Spring Begin
I walked along a lovely lane,
Carved out through bush and trees,
I walked for miles around the lakes,
And I felt the soothing breeze.
I walked along the same old path,
It seemed like endlessly.
And when I left that beaten path,
I was amazed at what I'd see!
A beautilful bird's nest towering high above,
A family nestled safe within,
And all the birds around it singing,
All is well with the world...
Let Spring Begin!
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen
A Mother's Love
A Mother's love is something
That no one can explain,
It's made of deep devotion
And sacrifice and pain.
It's endless and unselfish
And endures come what may
For nothing can destroy it
Or take that love away.
It's paitent and forgiving
When others are forsaking
And it never fails or falters
Even though the heart is breaking.
It believes beyond believing
When the world around condems
And it glows with all the beauty
Of the rarest and brightest gems.
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
nd it still remains a secret
Like the mysteries of creation.
And many-splendored miracle
Man can not understand,
And another wondrous evidence
Of God's tender guiding hand.
We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.
Our lives are filled with simple joys and blessings without end...
And one of the greatest joys in life is to have and to be a friend.
My mission for Value the Good is to bring inspiration, enjoyment and comfort...for everyone it touches, and by the way...
I Said a Prayer For You Today
I said a prayer for you today...
And I know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart...
Although he spoke no word.
I didn't ask for wealth or fame,
I know you wouldn't mind,
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share the way.
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small,
But it was for His loving care
I prayed for most of all.

This curious world which we inhabit is more wonderful than it is convenient, more beautiful than it is useful, it is more to be admired than to be used.
But for the grace of God there go I.
A real friend is one who helps us to think our nobelest thoughts, put forth our best efforts, and to be our best selves.
Commit random acts of kindness...
Do the right thing and
Value the good.
The answers to prayers are seldom early...but they are always on time.
Promises...from the Big Book of AA pub. 1939...
"We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.
We will not regret the past nor wish to change it.
We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace.
No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experiences can benefit others.
That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.
We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows.
Self-seeking will slip away.
Our whole outlook and attidude about life will change.
Fear of people and economic insecurity will leave us.
We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us.
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves."

If you should go before me dear, walk slowly
Down the ways of death, well-worn and wide,
For I would want to overtake you quickly,
And seek the journey's end by your side.
I would be so forlorn not to decry you,
Down some shining highroad when I came,
Walk slowly, dear, and often look behind you,
And pause to hear if someone calls your name.
